Our Farm Unit
During theme time, we are doing a farm unit. This is unit which incorporates social studies (specifically economics), math (plotting coordinates on a map and counting money) and science (learning about the needs and features of different animals on the farm). The students make their own farms and are required to buy their animals and determine what their farm will need. They also have to determine where to put roads, fences, their barn and a house and pay for these items.OOVOTO
OOVOTO stands for “Our own version of the Olympics.” It is basically like the field day you remember from your childhood. It is lots of fun and we spend almost all day outside competing in different events. Many parents like to come. OOVOTO is May 31. Please make sure your child wears sunscreen and wears comfortable clothing.
Homework
There will be no more spelling tests and homework packets this year! I am trying to decide who is the most excited about no homework – the kids, the parents of the teacher.
