Thank you Celebration
Please join us for a Thank you Celebration May 20 at 1:40. We will celebrate our moms and dads. We will also celebrate the end of a wonderful first grade year. We will view a slide show and sing a song. We will then have a small snack. We would love for all parents to attend!
OOVOTO shirts
Please send the WES The School t-shirt to school (write your child’s name in the tag) to school by May 2. We will tie dye the shirts at school and then we can wear them for OOVOTO. They will show our class spirit! If you don’t have a WES shirt, please send a white t-shirt.
What we have been learning…
We have completed our animal research reports. I am so impressed with the students’ writing! In reading, we read the story Whistle for Willie. We have been working on asking questions about what we read.

Derby Hats
The first week in May we will be learning about the Kentucky Derby. We would like for each child to wear a derby hat or a jockey hat. A jockey hat can be made out of a baseball cap. I don’t want you to buy a hat. I want you to decorate a hat you have or make one out of paper. Be creative! Please wear your derby hats on Friday, May 6.
